Public program

New ideas, perspectives and encounters: The topics and experimental formats at HKW form the starting point for the educational work. While creating access to the complex and diverse content of the program, the task of the Education division is to prepare the topics for specific projects in sometimes experimental formats and thus to make them accessible to different target groups. It’s always a matter of removing barriers. Audio guides, reading materials in simplified language and guided tours in German, English, some in sign language, in Farsi or Arabic throw spotlights on the exhibitions.

The Education division at HKW not only accompanies exhibitions, but also develops its own projects. It focuses on topics such as artistic research, participation, political and digital self-empowerment and diversity. Advanced training courses for teachers and long-term school partnerships emphasize HKW topics and learning. They are intended for teachers and students who can hold classroom project days with the support of artists.
