The Otolith Group

Founded in 2002 by Anjalika Sagar and Kodwo Eshun, The Otolith Group’s work investigates the histories and potentials of science fiction and Tricontinentalism. In their essay film “Medium Earth,” The Otolith Group explores the the seismic psyche of the earthquake endangered geology of California as well as the spatialized unconscious of capitalist modernism in the form of underground parking lots. The film dramatises ongoing audiovisual research into the geopoetics of prediction and premonition that claim to detect the earthquakes of the future.
