Film without a camera – Painting and scratching on 16mm film
With Ute Aurand

Simple forms are painted and scratched onto transparent or black 16mm film material and the resulting lines and patterns are animated with a 16mm film projector. Dots expand and contract, lines begin to dance with one another, light-flooded color pictures are set in motion.
The individual film strips are glued together to make a single collaborative work. This is projected on the screen in the darkened room, where it comes alive as a silent film. All without a camera.
