Jean-Luc Godard
Jean-Luc Godard was a co-founder of the French New Wave. Before becoming one of the most influential filmmakers of his generation, he was a film critic for the magazine Cahiers du cinéma. As a director, he left a lasting mark on the language of cinema with films such as À bout de souffle (1960), Sauve qui peut (la vie) (1980), Histoire(s) du cinéma (1988) and Allemagne 90 neuf zéro (1991). In 2010, he was awarded the Academy Honorary Award for his life’s work.
