Van Bo Le-Mentzel (*1977) is an architect from Kreuzberg. A carpentry course inspired him to create a low-cost do-it-yourself furniture collection. In 2011 he presented his Hartz-IV (social welfare) apartment, covering just 21 square meters, at the Berlin Design Festival DMY. Le-Mentzel gained international renown with his One-SQM-House, the world’s smallest build-it-yourself house. He is involved in a number of different projects and is co-founder of Verein Deutsch Plus e.V. (Initiative for a Pluralist Republic)
