Gadget & App Culture: Sound & The Machinery of the Senses

How do our senses change in times of omnipresent mobile audio technologies? Two of the world’s leading “Sound Studies“ researchers, the art historian Jonathan Sterne and the music ethnologist Veit Erlmann, explore the anthropology of listening as an expression of the sensual technologies of daily culture. The focus of the discussion is an auditive performance by AGF a.k.a Antye Greie.

The event marks the launch of the program “Inhuman Music”, that takes place in 2012 at Haus der Kulturen der Welt.
