Artur, Matuim and Ciara, two men, one woman, they meet, they fall in love, each of them is escaping something. Their goal: Belém in northern Brazil, one of the largest cities in the Amazon. Eliane Caffé’s feature film follows the trio’s path downstream away from the provinces, and into the loud, colorful life of the city. Against the backdrop of a magnificent landscape, yet without submitting to cliches, the director draws a portrait of three people who break with their rural roots and place all their hopes on a new beginning in the anonymous space of the city. But the trio’s love affair awakens the ghosts of a crime of passion ...
