Sebastião Tapajós (Brazil)
Amazon
At age 67, Sebastião Tapajós looks back on his nearly 60-year career. With more than 50 albums, he is considered the "Stradivarius among guitar players.“ Along with Luiz Bonfá and Baden Powell, he is considered one of the great guitarists of 1960s Rio de Janeiro, playing both Bossa Nova and jazz and cover versions of hit music.
Since the 70s, he has been constantly on tour in Europe and has performed with the Berlin Philharmonic. A few years ago, the student of Emilio Pujol finally returned to his Amazonian homeland and to the local styles. As an internationally recognized musician, he returned to his birthplace, Santarém to help promote young talent - in the middle of the Amazon rubber plantations.
