In a middle-class suburb of Rio de Janeiro, six-year-old Clara is kidnapped. It is a nightmare scenariofor all parents and a possible reality in Brazil feared by middle- and upper-class families. Yet the clues lead inan unexpected direction, straight into a web of love, deceit, jealousy and hate. Who can be trusted? What are people capable of when reality does not live up to their desires? The dense images by award-winning cinematographer Lula Carvalho (“Tropa de elite”/“Elite Squad”) convey unbearable tension. The selection competing for 2013 in the Festival doRio was so strong that the jury chose two winning films for the first time: “O lobo atrás da porta” (A Wolf at the Door) shares the main prize with “De menor” (Underage).
