Expert Talk at Halftime
with Pauline Bremer (German national team) & Bernd M. Scherer, Director, Haus der Kulturen der Welt
Pauline Bremer played on the German team that won the 2012 European Women’s Under-17 Championship in Nyon. The same year, the 16-year-old transferred from her home club, SVG Göttingen 07, where she began kicking in 2005, to the Bundesliga’s 1st FFC Turbine Potsdam, one of the most successful women’s football clubs in all of Europe. “Pauli” got her first taste of first-division play in December 2012.
Now 18, she has earned a regular place in Turbine’s lineup – primarily as an attacking outside midfielder – for Bundesliga, German Football Association Cup and Champions League matches. In her last major appearance for the national team, at the 2013 European Women’s Under-19 Championship in Wales, she was the top goal-scorer, leading Germany to qualification for the 2014 Under-20 Women’s World Cup in Canada.
