Beyond Homophobia

Beyond Homophobia began in 2015 as a symposium at the University of the West Indies in Jamaica. It has yielded two conferences and the book Beyond Homophobia: Centring LGBTQ Experiences in the Anglophone Caribbean (2020). Artists, activists and academics come together to challenge dominant narratives and explore how queer practices are expressed and experienced beyond the discourse of violence and limitations of heterosexual and binary gender norms.
