Zeynep Çelik

Zeynep Çelik beschäftigt sich als Wissenschaftlerin mit dem kulturübergreifenden Austausch in Architektur und Urbanismus des 19. und 20. Jahrhunderts. Zu ihren Publikationen zählen The Remaking of Istanbul (1986), Displaying the Orient (1992), Urban Forms and Colonial Confrontations (1997), Empire, Architecture, and the City (2008), Camera Ottomana – Photography and Modernity in the Ottoman Empire 1840 – 1914 (2015) und About Antiquities (2016). Zeynep Çelik war Ko-Kuratorin der Ausstellungen Camera Ottomana, Anamed Gallery, Istanbul (2015), Scramble for the Past, SALT, Istanbul (2011) und Walls of Algiers, Getty Museum, Los Angeles (2009). Sie ist Distinguished Professor für Architektur am New Jersey Institute of Technology und Adjunct Professor für Geschichte an der Columbia University.
