Maxime Le Calvé

Maxime Le Calvé is an anthropologist. He is currently conducting his postdoctoral research at Matters of Activity, a Cluster of Excellence at Humboldt-Universität Berlin. He is investigating on the crafting of digital matter in image-based surgery and virtual reality design. He holds a PhD in Social Anthropology and in Theater Studies from École des hautes études en sciences sociales, Paris and Freie Universität Berlin, respectively. He has published on contemporary artistic creation processes and has recently edited a volume on the description methods and the effects of atmospheres in social contexts. Inspired by the artists that he has observed in action, he makes use of drawings in his ethnographic work.
