Students’ Day – Exhibition tours and presentation day by students for students:
By students for students: students of cultural sciences and romance studies give guided tours of the exhibition and brief presentations of their reflections on individual exhibits and themes.
The student-led tours of "The Whole Earth. California and the Disappearance of the Outside" are complemented by additional cultural-scientific reflections on the exhibition's central themes. In particular, the focus is on the development of the Californian sub-culture and counter-culture, the emergence of an overall cultural paradigm shift between modernity and post-modernity and the concept of the individual as a unit that can be optimized and controlled.
In a series of short presentations, the students from the University of Potsdam select individual thematic areas of the exhibition and address in particular concepts of indigenous culture and how they are adopted by sub-cultures and the mainstream, Sun Ra's Arkestra and Afrofuturism, and spiritual movements in California.
Guided tours are on offer at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. The short presentations take place
