Steffen de Rudder wrote his doctorate about the Berlin Congress Hall. His book “Der Architekt Hugh Stubbins. Amerikanische Moderne der Fünfziger Jahre in Berlin“ (The Architect Hugh Stubbins. American 1950s Modernity in Berlin) appeared in 2007. From 1990 to 2001, Steffen de Rudder worked in Berlin and Potsdam as a self-employed architect in the field of new construction, redevelopment and preservation of monuments. He was associate lecturer at the Kunsthistorischer Institut der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (Art History Institute of Berlin’s Humboldt University) and is currently associate researcher at the Bauhaus University in Weimar.
