BODY BUILD – Körpergebäude

In 2012, the thematic emphasis at Haus der Kulturen der Welt is on architecture. In the fall, the exhibition “Art, Architecture and Ideology” looks at how the relationship between art, architecture and ideology takes shape in conflict zones and stress fields.

Before that, “Architektur macht Schule” devotes itself mainly to education and training. To begin with, 160 students from the faculty of visual arts, headed up by Prof. Dr. Stefanie Bürkle of the TU Berlin’s Institute for Architecture, address the task of building a transportable case for their own bodies. They will complete their works in a public workshop situation at Haus der Kulturen der Welt and demonstrate the results in a performative presentation.
