During excavations in the vicinity of a small Carpathian village a mass grave is discovered. Many skeletons are missing the little finger, which points to a crime of the Securitate, until the dead are finally identified as plague victims. In his début novel Filip Florian combines a powerful imagination and the reconstruction of real events with fantastical elements.
