Amara Lakhous and the Clash of Civilizations over an Elevator (Italy / Algeria)

Amara Lakhous actually comes from Algeria, however he writes in Italian and is one of the brightest literary discoveries of recent years. In his book »Clash of Civilizations Over an Elevator in Piazza Vittorio,« a crime in the aforementioned piazza is used as a starting point for a multi-layered portrait of life in Rome. As an outsider Lakhous gives a genuine and uncompromising view of the reality that surrounds him.
