Arto Lindsay
The Penny Parade
The Brazilian-U.S. American musician and artist intervenes in the heart of the city. As in this spring’s Venice Biennale, the art parade in Berlin brings together musicians and cultural initiatives, invites pedestrians to contemplate and participate. The multifaceted parade responds to the location’s history and present day, featuring music composed for the occasion, rolling installations and groups of figures that mingle with the crowds. The "Penny Parade" travels from Unter den Linden to the Brandenburg Gate and ends at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt. Art and music make for a universal language newly created by Lindsay.
