The performance theorist Fred Moten focuses on an interview with the late philosopher Emmanuel Levinas (d. 1995), from whom he has taken the title of his lecture, and asks: What is the meaning of not intending the racism you practice? What inferences about the phenomenology of intentionality can be drawn from unintentional racism? Fred Moten teaches at Duke University.
