Much more than an African “social club”: eight unplugged Rumba veterans. Anything but a museum-revival of acoustic Rumba. Followed by: DJ Ndaponah.

"Delicious melodies, inspired and original arrangements, faultless and non-indulgent playing, scalp-tingling voices are more than enough for this reviewer, at least, to reaffirm his long-held suspicion that the best African music and the best Congolese music are one and the same thing."(John Armstrong, BBC)

For several decades now, Congolese music has been one of the mainstays of African music from the Sahara to the Cape. Congolese Rumba lives on in the vibrant rhythms, the captivating voices and the colourful guitars of the eight veterans of that collective known as Kékélé.
