The dancer-choreographers Kazadi and Ebotani belong to the creative scene around Faustin Linyekula, who has established a production centre for theatre and dance with a factory character at his Kabako studios in Kinshasa.

Ya Biso is a composition commissioned by the Centre National de la Dance in Paris. An early version of this work can be seen at IN TRANSIT 05.“No explanations, no translations, no justifications, no excuse… neither history nor concept. No back-to-the-roots and no avant-garde. ‘Ya Biso - For ourselves’ means nothing but the joy of dancing, dancing together, dancing for ourselves.” (Djodjo Kazadi/Papy Ebotani)

Choreography and dance: Papy Ebotani, Djodjo Kazadi

Music: Lokua Kanza
