‘Germaine Krull was an early 20th-century adventurer. In 1945, she went to Indochina, first as a war correspondent and then as a photographer and hotel manager. The artist Heide Specker considers her own work in relation to that of Germaine Krull.

(...) One needs no previous knowledge to realise how much Germaine Krull’s perspective on Thailand makes Heidi Specker feel strong – precisely because she does not see the need to explain it or to embed it in the context of Krull’s work, but accepts it uncompromisingly from her own artistic position.’
