In the 1970s, Black undercover agent Ron Stallworth (John David Washington) gains the trust of a local Ku Klux Klan group in Colorado Springs on the phone. When it comes to meeting them in person, he briefs his white, Jewish colleague Flip (Adam Driver). Things get complicated when Ron falls in love with a Black Power activist. Spike Lee’s film is based on the memories of the actual police officers involved and, despite its bitter essence, plays humorously with the Blaxploitation genre.
