The body as miracle (Wunder) and wound (Wunde) – Enis Maci’s play WUNDER is an experiment in the deviant and the fragmentary, about illness and consolation, about rituals and about faith. The eight tracks on DNA, Rosaceae’s third LP, alternate between elegy and club sound. In this disturbing meditation on terror, resistance and attitude, impetuous rhythms and hard kick drums, influences from noise, ambient and gabber meet lyric samples in which, for example, survivors of the Yazidi genocide have their say. The title of the album alludes to Anna Campbell, who joined the Kurdish Women’s Protection Units in Rojava and fell in the battle for Afrîn. It is said of her that resistance was “in her DNA.”

WUNDER / DNA is an evening where the mundane meets the mystical, the multitude meets the individual. The bridge between these two works is in part the actual body that throws itself into the field.

With playwright Enis Maci, actors Zeynep Bozbay and Rosa Lembeck and music by Rosaceae
