The Berlin Gedankenexperiment
Till Kreutzer
It’s common knowledge that the Internet and digital technologies have radically changed user behaviors. Nearly everyone is able not only to consume copyrighted material but also to modify and publish it. At the same time, authors and commercial exploitation industries are experiencing fundamental changes; old marketing models are no longer functioning. However, current copyright law is still far from being adapted to this situation. In the Berlin Thought Experiment on the Reorganization of Copyright, Till Kreutzer calls for rethinking: Along with a group of experts, he’s formulated models for what a regulatory instrument for the protection and use of creative goods should look like.
