An attempt to take stock of and look into the future after twenty years of Nuevo Cine Argentino: Is it dominated by optimism or disillusion? What are the dangers of institutionalized pluralism and the aesthetic freedoms that characterize the Argentinian film scene? What is the background of today’s young filmmakers? How do the directors of the first hour pass on their experiences to the next generation? How do new productions reach their audience and how is the cinema dealing with the disappearance of the critics?
Moderation: Alan Pauls, curator
