How can the loneliness and isolation of big city life be broken through? Tram driver Juvenal lives alone in Belo Horizonte and seems to have no plans to change it – his spartan flat is equipped with the bare necessities: a table, a bed, a glass ... One day, his co-worker Margô asks him to be a witness at her wedding, but this would require at least friendly relations between the two and they develop very slowly. Using artfully reduced photography and a square retro format, Marcelo Gomes’s and Cao Guimarães’s film follows its protagonists’ paths through a cityof millions.
