Creative, independent, talented: Cinematic portraits of the kuduro stars Ho Chi Fu, Nástio Mosquito, Titica and Sacerdote – musicians whose sound not only makes Luanda move ecstatically. The film is a coproduction of Stocktown (Sweden) and Geração 80 (Angola), in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut Angola.

Kuduro, a style of music and dance born in Luanda during the final years of Angola’s civil war, is a booming mix of house, techno and traditional rhythms. Director Mário Patrocínio – known for his film about Complexo do Alemão, one of the toughest favelas in Rio – depicts theyoung, urban movement that has long since transcended Angola’s borders: including its innovative founders, the crafty superstars of the scene and the pop-culture references in its fashion and dance moves, from Jean-Claude Van Damme to Kwanzaa.
