Napalma

Founded in 2004 in the midst of the carnival in Vitoria, Napalma pursue their mission of spreading a highly contagious dance fever.

A mission they will accomplish at Copa da Cultura 2.0, just as they have at various venues around the world: The Cairo Opera House and International Jazz Festival in Cape Town, Boom Festival in Portugal or Bushfire in Swaziland. And they plan to continue touring the world as a carnival block, with the Mozambican vocalist Ivo Maia singing against a veritable wall of congas and bass drums, punctuated by snatches of electronic reverb and funk guitars.
