Korea 2013, 90 min, English subtitles

Haewon dreams of escaping her life. She feels alone. Her mother is going abroad, and an affair with her professor doesn’t offer her any stability. Is it a dream or reality that she meets Jane Birkin, who invites her to Paris? Or that rice wine, a familiar melody, and a promising escape plan are waiting for her in the old fortress above the city? Here, in contrast to earlier films, Hong Sangsoo places female perspectives at the center. What remains the same is the subtly humorous distance from which he views the vagaries of life and love.
