Patrick Bronner
is a teacher at the Friedrich Grammar School in Freiburg. In 2016 he received the German Teacher Award in the category Innovative Teaching for the project Smartphones in the Classroom.

Friederike Claußen
is an advisor for the Central Agency for German Schools Abroad (Zentralstelle für Auslandsschulwesen/ZfA) where she is responsible for the projects of the initiative Schools: Partners of the Future (PASCH). On behalf of the German Foreign Office, the ZfA promotes and supports around 1,300 schools internationally which are united by the German language. Friederike Claußen previously worked for the Goethe-Institut Côte d’Ivoire in Abidjan and the Partnership with Africa Foundation in Potsdam.

Fiete Aleksander
is a social pedagogue and founding member of the Datteltäter, a group of four satirists who make fun of right wing and Islamic extremists in YouTube videos. Since September 2016 Datteltäter has appeared on funk, a joint content network from the Association of Public Broadcasting Corporations in the Federal Republic of Germany (ARD) and the Second German Television Company (ZDF).

Silvia Fehrmann (Juryvorsitz)
has headed the German Academic Exchange Service’s (DAAD) Artists-in-Berlin Program since January 1, 2018. Prior to this she was the Deputy Director and Head of the Department of Communications and Cultural Education at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin. The literary scholar was born in Buenos Aires where she worked at the Goethe-Institut and taught at the university. Silvia Fehrmann is the curator of the project Schools of Tomorrow.

Philipp Mensah
is the School Student Representative for the Federal State of Berlin as well as the Chairman of the School Student Committee of the State of Berlin, the highest democratically elected committee representing the interests of over 300,000 students in Berlin with respect to the press, politics, and society. Mensah is active at the various levels of student representation, championing the opinions, interests, and ideas of students, especially in the areas of school and education policy.

Jeannette Otto
is an education journalist and editor for the section Chancen of the weekly newspaper Die Zeit. She addresses issues of schools, early childhood education, families, child-rearing, and related themes. Two years ago she developed the magazine Arbeit. Liebe. Geld (Work. Love. Money) which is now published annually by the Zeit Verlag. She is currently engaged in further expanding the theme of families within the section Chancen. She studied German philology, journalism, and psychology in Leipzig, Bamberg, and Edinburgh.

Robert Pfützner (Scientific Advisory Committee)
is an educationalist and conducts research with a focus on the theory and praxis of solidaric and emancipatory education. He teaches pedagogy at a vocational college and is an associate lecturer at the University of Darmstadt and the University of Hildesheim. After graduating from the University of Jena he worked as a teacher at the German School Bucharest from 2011 to 2013.
