Larisa Kingston Mann
Larisa Kingston Mann, aka DJ Ripley, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Media Studies and Production at Temple University, Philadelphia. She conducts research on cultural practices of marginalized groups that subvert dominant systems of power. Her most recent book, Rude Citizenship: Jamaican Popular Music, Copyright and the Reverberations of Colonial Power, was published in 2022. As a DJ, she weaves street bass music from different parts of the world to challenge hierarchies and boundaries.
