Laeïla Adjovi
Laeïla Adjovi is a Beninese and French photographer, writer, visual artist and photojournalist. Her work is about African religious practices, multilayered identities, mobility, migration and borders. In 2018, her project, Malaïka Dotou Sankofa, together with Loïc Hoquet, won the Grand prize in the Dakar Contemporary Art Biennale. Her most recent photo essay, The roads of Yemaya, (2021) is about a West African deity whose rites travelled across the Atlantic during the slave trade.
