Mahmoud Hassino

Mahmoud Hassino has been working at Schwulenberatung Berlin’s office for LGBTI people since 2015. He advocates for the rights of queer refugees. Previously, he worked in Syria as a journalist and blogged about homosexuality in Syria and Islam. Hassino founded the first Syrian queer magazine in 2012. He also organized the Mr. Gay Syria competition in Istanbul, which was the subject of a 2017 documentary by Turkish director Ayse Toprak.
