Elizabeth A. Povinelli

Elizabeth Povinelli is Franz Boas Professor of Anthropology at Columbia University, New York. Her research, writing and films have explored the nature of late liberalism from the perspective of Australian indigenous and American queer worlds. She has been especially interested in the tactics of markets and governance that emerged in the late 1960s and are now in crisis. Her interest also expands to the conditions for the emergence and survival of the “otherwise”.
