Geoffroy de Masure
Geoffroy de Masure is a musician who studied classical trombone at the Conservatoire in Avignon. In 1990 he moved to New York to further study and experiment jazz. He participated in the Banff Center for The Arts Jazz program in Alberta, Canada, which was had profound impact in his evolution as a musician. De Masure taught amongst others at the École National de Musique de Bobigny and gave numerous workshops in Belgium and France as well as at the Royal Academy of Music in London. In 2014, he was appointed professor in trombone at the Jazz Institute Berlin, where he had been working as a guest lecturer since 2012 and then as a visiting professor. He also teaches at the Academy of Music Franz Liszt Weimar.
