Ghayath Almadhoun

Ghayath Almadhoun is a Palestinian poet born in Damascus. He has lived in Stockholm since 2008. His accomplished poetry, translated into a dozen languages, reflects a both critical and emotionally first-hand experience of the Syrian war. Almadhoun currently lives in Berlin as a fellow of the Berliner Künstlerprogramm des DAAD (Artists-in-Berlin Program). His poetry has been translated internationally, most recently into German (Ein Raubtier namens Mittelmeer, 2018).
