Nature vs. Man

“HKW Royal” has successfully established itself with stars of the global music scene and now it’s time for a counterpart: “HKW Lokal”. The international scene in Berlin – from the well-established to the brand new. In the first editions, artists dedicate exclusive programs to ÜBER LEBENSKUNST.

A cross between nature and technology, “climate change” expressed with a mixture of the pure human voice and computer-generated sounds: 9 aka Marco Brosolo – a man also on the go in experimental theater with La Fura dells Baus – plays “Digital Camp Fire Songs” that combine the stringency of German Electronica with the warmth of Italian song-writing. In the words of MTV: “between pop and avant-garde – fall in love with this music.” Special guests: four members of the Chor der Kulturen der Welt (Choir of World Cultures).

The September Collective – always searching for its own direction between pure stage improvisation, arranged pieces and digital sound worlds – works with the Chor der Kulturen der Welt on behalf of HKW Lokal: a live sampling performance that produces ever-newer variations of A capella choir compositions by the Estonian artist Veljo Tormis.
