Electric trucks & hybrid hot rods
DM Bob & Speedy Jake | Jimmy Trash & the Gunpowder Temple of Heaven
“HKW Royal” has successfully established itself with stars of the global music scene and now it’s time for a counterpart: “HKW Lokal”. The international scene in Berlin – from the well-established to the brand new. In the first editions, artists dedicate exclusive programs to ÜBER LEBENSKUNST.
Songs about cars, trains, trucks, and just being on the go have always played a central role in pop music. Is it the end of the road now, or what will trucker songs sound like in the age of the electric motor? The one-man-big-band DM Bob, who has worked with Jem of the Pogues, is on the go here with steel guitarist and tubaist Speedy Jake. Their mega-hit “Who put he cunt in cuntrey” has made them icons of the New Orleans Swamp Pop scene.
Under the motto “Apocalypse Culture”, Jimmy Trash, the Australian DJ, organist and herald of psychedelic culture, sends blood-chilling messages to the tycoons and leaders of the world with Gunpowder Temple of Heaven: chaos Rock’n’Roll mixed with the Motown sound of a brass section. With a mobility disco before, after and in-between the sets, with DJ D-Mobile: “Train Songs, Hot Rod Hits and Truckers’ Favorites”.
