Ramsan Kadyrow - "Hero of the Russian Federation"
With German Sadulajew (Russia), Ekkehard Maaß (Germany) and Anna Schor-Taschudnowskaja
The President of Chechnya, Ramsan Kadyrov, says that "a leader must be feared". If this is true then Kadyrov can count himself among the truly great leaders. Put in power by Putin and deployed in the war against the separatists, he wants to rebuild the beaten region. Yet it is led with violence and tyranny: Kadyrov, leader of the Kadyrovzy militia, who is wanted for numerous human rights violations such as torture, abduction and rape, is under international criticism. State tyranny and corruption are a fact of everyday life for the Chechnyan population. What kind of future does Chechnya have?
