A dialogue emerges from an encounter between a jailed Kurdish politician and a Turkish journalist: based on both past and future scenarios of both women and their different lifestyles, the novel "Bir Gün" focuses on the current political situation in Turkey.

Born 1941 in Istanbul, Ayse Kulin has been the frequent recipient of the "Author of the Year" award in Turkey. Many of her stories and novels have been turned into films and translated into numerous languages. Her literary analysis of the Kurdish question and the people involved in it, particularly Leyla Zana - the first Kurdish delegate in the Turkish parliament - is the topic of the discussion following the reading.
