After the murder of a drug-dealer, young Alfa flees to Senegal, where he meets a relative he has never seen before. Shocked by his encounter with Africa, he moves on in search of an imaginary river and his own identity. A thriller and road movie in one, Le Fleuve shows a society that is being globalised not by flows of capital, but by emigration.
