Historical archive footage, dream sequences and political reflections are interwoven to create a complex experiment that is intensified by the ritualistic music: twenty years after Ghana’s socialist experiment under Kwameh Nkrumah, a former activist returns to her home country as a reporter. She is supposed to do a report on Werner Herzog’s Cobra Verde, part of which was filmed in a former slave fort in Ghana.
