This is not only a horror film but also a family comedy and a political satire. A father starts hunting monsters, one of his daughters phones from the monster’s fangs; the monster mutates in the chemically polluted water and one of the sisters turns into a bow-and-arrow-shooting super girl.
Bong Joon-ho’s wild genre-mix has made him into a cult star in South Korea, where one person in four (!) bought a ticket for The Host.
