Shangri-La: Performances

Michael Joo, Patty Chang, Terence Koh and Nikki S. Lee

Young Asian-American artists from New York stage their performances and speak about art as a process of self-discovery in a life between two cultures.

In a performance including double film projection, Patty Chang shows the results of her research into the biography of Chinese-American actress Anna May Wong, who sought refuge in Berlin from Hollywood's racist practices of the 1920s and 1930s.

An event of “Asia-Pacific Weeks 2007 – Asia-Pacific: Changing the World”. Asia-Pacific Weeks receives funding from the Stiftung Deutsche Klassenlotterie Berlin DKLB.
