nomadic new york counters Manhattan's restless flow of money with "decelerated" in-between spaces. Their performance art refuses spectacle. It takes on a political dimension through the formation of temporary collectives which occupy spaces in new ways. The artists open up New York and Berlin through their nomadic coming and going, their avoidance of fixed structures. In Berlin they will tell us a story of life in the global metropolis, a story that we all have in common.

At dusk, the audience is invited to enter the K2 conference room to rest their heads on pillows projecting soundscores created by NY sound artists Bernard Elsmere, Johanna Fateman, Aldo Hernandez and Deborah "Killer" Melford. Video and intermittent live performances occur until midnight.

"Sleep darling, i will be here when you wake" was commissioned by the House of World Cultures.

Tolentino has resided in NY for twenty years, is of Filipino-Salvadoran descent, was a member of ACT UP and the NY downtown dance scene. In 1990, she originated the Clit Club, a legendary hotspot of New York's lesbian nightlife.
