Goat

Goat plays complex rhythmic structures so precisely that they sound programmed—Minimal Techno without electronics. The quartet from Osaka, Japan, disregard the typical Rock music characteristics of their instruments—guitar, bass, drums, and saxophone—emphasizing repetition instead of melody, employing a stoically hammering bass drum and atonal harmonies.

Talvin Singh / Budgie / Jason Singh

Percussion extravaganza with underground pioneers: Singh’s fusion of tabla and Electronica founded the Asian Underground. Budgie’s legendary drum style— with the Slits and Siouxsie and the Banshees— infused Post-Punk with Reggae and Funk elements. With beatboxer Jason Singh they prepare a beat and drum focused performance exclusively for 100 Years of Beat.
