No Fun, No Feelings, No Future – Punk has specialized in saying No through music. As an angry rejection of the establishment, Punk demonstrates the refusal to work and a radical independence, both destructive nihilism and an activist DIY culture – and above all an attitude, a principle, maybe even a strategy. Can this principle be generalized, or does Punk have to be situated in its historical and geographical context, thus simultaneously accepting its “musealization”? What forms can musical refusals assume after Punk?
