Football has a much more varied rhythm than volleyball or basketball: from epic to dramatic, to burlesque, to lyrical, to parody. Beyond that, Pasolini distinguished between poetic and prosaic soccer – and José Miguel Wisnik says Brazil also has “elliptical” football. The musician and literature professor pursues the question whether these categories can be applied to the 2006 world championships.
Moderation: Stefan Rinke, Freie Universität Berlin
José Miguel Wisnik will give a concert at the Quasimodo on June 29.
